Connection Request

The Connection Request page facilitates the evaluation of individual grids within your project or the entire grid network, enabling the identification of the most suitable connection candidate. This assessment involves performing a Power Flow calculation.

Usage

For the creation of a Connection Request, you have the option to select an individual grid or opt for none; in the latter case, the evaluations will include all grids within the project.

WARNING

When a grid is selected, the resulting Connection Request will be exclusively associated with the chosen grid.

Evaluation

Evaluating saves the Connection Request and starts the evaluation. Buses are evaluated in increasing distance until a bus with sufficient capacity has been found.

Evaluation table result

Grid viewer

The evaluation results are presented in the grid viewer. Depending on the feasibility of the bus, it will be highlighted either in green or yellow.

A donut is drawn around the Connection Request. The inner one indicates the distance to the closest bus from the connection location. The outer one indicates the distance to the furthest bus that has been evaluated.

If a bus within the search circle is selected, the evaluation result for that specific bus can be displayed in the Grid Inspector.

Buses outside the search circle can be evaluated in the Grid Inspector.

Connection Points

The list is sorted by the bus distance, from furthest to nearest. For each of the limit categories the worst value is shown. Values above their threshold are highlighted in bold. Click on a value to select the respective element in the Grid Editor and its Power Flow result.

Selecting a connection point shows a representation of the grid visualizing the paths from the feeder to all buses with their voltages along the path.

If buses are not relevant for the further evaluation, click the × to remove them.

Bus connection

After completing the evaluation, select a connection point and click on Connect at.

This will

  • create a Bus, Connection and Generator or Load
  • change the status of the Connection Request to Planned (ON)
  • lock the Connection Request
