Hosting Capacity

This section allows users to configure how hosting capacity is calculated across the grid, including evaluation scope, voltage levels, and violation thresholds. Hosting Capacity project settings

Evaluation Parameters

  • Device Category: Define the type of device for hosting capacity analysis (e.g., Generation).
  • Evaluation Scope: Choose whether to evaluate the entire grid.
  • Voltage Level Consideration: Option to include the highest voltage level in the analysis.
  • Existing Load and Generation:
    • Shift operating point by considering existing loads
    • Consider existing generators

Calculation Settings

  • Ignore Existing Violations: Optionally exclude pre-existing grid violations.
  • Convergence Threshold: Set the convergence limit for iterative calculations (e.g., 1%).
  • Max Iterations per Bus: Define the maximum number of iterations (e.g., 50).

Rule Set and Connection Types

  • Rule Set: Select applicable standards (e.g., International).
  • Connection Type Category:
    • Single-phase
    • Two-phase
    • Three-phase

Violation Checks

  • Check Voltage Violations in Sibling Grids: Enable cross-grid validation.
  • Bus Voltage Change: Set maximum allowed change (e.g., 3%).

Thresholds for Grid Violations

  • Undervoltage: Minimum 0.9 pu
  • Overvoltage: Maximum 1.1 pu
  • Line Loading: Maximum 110%
  • Transformer Loading: Maximum 120%
  • Fuse Loading: Maximum 100%
  • Voltage Unbalance Factor: Maximum 2%

These settings help ensure accurate and compliant hosting capacity evaluations across different grid scenarios.
